Hello,

I am new to this. the phone system was setup before I came on. However, I now need to make a change to the auto attendant. I need to know how to assign the auto attendant to a line or group

The auto attendent needs a group # ex:7929.There is a short cut by configuing the auto attendent. If it is a Merlin Messaging and you have a new version processor, if you go to config merlin mess it will automatically configure it for you.
Sys-program--start--system--config merlin mess

Need to provide more info, do you have multiple Autoattendants. If you just have then assign the new line 80_ to entensions, group calling lines/pools 770 or 771 depending on how it was set up. This example is for a very basic setup. Hope this leads you in the right direction.

keep in mind that the new auto config on the magix systems is very confusing. old time legend programmers are use to programming vm and auto att services thru group 770. the new magix auto config makes that 7929 now. Screws things up when trying to help out someone.

If you are setting up auto att, and you are using pots lines then you assign the lines thru extensions, page up, group calling, lines, and enter the line numbers 801-880.
for delayed answer you will need to assign the lines to an overflow group and then overflow to (770) after 3 or 4 rings as well as have the lines ring on the console to be answered.

hope this helps...
