Hi,

This is my first post here (but I read this forum and I find it very
well documented).

I need to program a T1 trunk but I get an error when I try to submit
the TDCSU command. The NI2 protocol (needed to match the other PBX) is
not described in PRODE.

Now, I did a REG-PRODE; and I see that the PVCD=1, that is the
standard protocol set for Germany (probably the default from the
initial rollout of the PBX).

I need to add the NI2 protocol on the list, and I did not succeed.

Also, for T1, the BCSU must be set with TMD instead of DIU.

I try to do these settings, but still get the error that NI2 is not
known by the PBX.

All my other trunks are E1 and I have never programmed an T1. What
should I check?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,
Try the following

Hello, sbcsu,

Thanks for the reply.

I had already these entries in the list.

I have all the commands entered - just like your reply.

However, after checking PVCDNO 1 I get this - and the NI2 is not in the list.
In my understanding, this is the active list of protocols described in the PBX.

NOTE: I have tried to add the trunk with "CORNUS" protocol:

***

&G711&G729AOPT,,71,ASC,Y,TRADITIO,S1CONN,1&&23,N,1,7,,,,,,;
***

The DIU-T2 board is configured like this:

***
ADD-BCSU:MTYPE=TMD,LTG=1,LTU=3,SLOT=6,PARTNO="Q2226-X200",FCTID=4,LWVAR="0",HWYBDL=A,ALARMNO=0;
***

I haven't tried to connect the T1 PBX, but I wonder if it will work
(even if I know for sure that they use NI2 protocol on their side)...

Any ideas are welcome.

Thanks

Hi,
I am not familiar with that N1 protocol, how many channels will they be presenting ?
If less than 30 you have to add a dummy group to make up the full 30.

The Protocol CORNUS is not NI2
Make your PROTVAR=NI2 and try again.

Also have you any info from any other site that uses this protocol on a HiPath

NI2 is a US protocol used by Bellcore. It's a T1 standard (23BCH + 1DCH).
On my HiPath I also need to present 23 BCH, so that's not an issue for me.

My problem is trying to add the trunk as NI2 instead of CORNUS, and I
get back "F66: PROTVAR NI2 IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH DEV S1CONN".

I tried other variants, but they are still not compatible with NI2. I
know that "S2CONN" is the standard 30CH, but I need 23 BCH.
And, according to my knowledge, the S1CONN is providing 23BCH.

I am working with HiPath systems since 2004, but I only saw systems
that were configured with European Standard trunks.

It is more than likely S2COD and if it is 23 BCHAN then you need to add another TDCSU into BCGR=2 with the remaining 7 channels even though they do nothing.
