Configuration Manager - having trouble applying 1

Hello,

When I try to apply settings in Configuration Manager as the last step of the installation of PowerPlay and Impromptu User 7.1 MR 2, I get the following errors:

Could not complete Apply for COMPUTER-NAME.
Could not complete Apply for Services.
Apply failed for PowerPlay Data Services dependency Access Manager - Runtime.
Could not complete Apply for Access Manager - Runtime.
Could not complete Apply for Authentication Source.
The directory server 'COMPUTER-NAME:389' is not responding.

I am logged onto the machine locally as a user that is part of the administrative group.

Hi Saira

From my experience with configuration manager...
The real error is :
The directory server 'COMPUTER-NAME:389' is not responding.

Do you have Netscape or another directory server on your computer? <Computer-Name>
Port 389 is the default port for the dir server.

If not you should use and LAE file, created by using Access Manager, then using configuration manager to set this as the runtime (default) authentication source.

I hope this points you in the right direction, I also find you can ignore these errors and Cognos will work.
