I'm having problems getting Configuration manager to complete.

Namespace ID:LDAP-USER
host and port:sadf:389
Base DN=cognos,c=ca


[ ERROR ] A minimum number of resources (1) are required for the type 'Namespace - Cognos' located in the component 'Authentication'.


Any ideas which setting I've got wrong...???

Hi,

In Configuration Manager under Services>Access Manager - Directory Server>General did you set the 'Are you sure you want to configure this directory server?' to yes?

You are trying to create a cognos schema in your AD, bypassing the Sun ONE mechanism, or are you trying to setup external user linking?
What cognos product/version are you using?

Cognos8.1 ,in the Cognos Configuartion ,under Security, right-click Authentication, and click New resource,Namespace.choose Active Directory type,
and
Namespace ID:LDAP-USER
host and port:sadf:389
Base DN=cognos,c=ca

when i finish this ,and then test,
[ ERROR ] A minimum number of resources (1) are required for the type 'Namespace - Cognos' located in the component 'Authentication'.

It's pretty hard to imagine that your company is called cognos, so i asume you need to try:

Base DN:dc=company, dc=com

(On a machine in the network, rightclick my computer, properties, go to Computer name and read out the "Full computer name". Everything behind the hostname is what you need in the DN string above)
