Hi All

I was asked by my seniors to look into the idea of developing a internal Conferncing application. It should consist of White Board (meaning a person on one end having the ability to draw onto a fixed space and the same is shown on an other ends pc), voice conferencing and maybe...video! the last feature i've added so its not entirely necessary!

The problem is i have no idea where to start from; programming language, anything in connection to!

Can anyone give me a kick start, any tutorials or reading on the net. I'm doing my own research but i would like your feedback!

Thanks
Nick

thanks for your valuable toughts! :>

Cheers

I'm sorry if I annoyed you with my reply, but think that your question is way too open, you're proposing a research work.

This is Java forum and you even don't know which language want to use. Answering your question would involve a lot of time, and I don't think that's the purpose of this forum.

Anyway, my post was not just for fun. What you need is more or less what Netmeeting does.

If you want to do it in Java, you should start having a look at the documentation about Swing, sockets and connections, and probably RMI.

Good luck

Dian

Thanks Dian....on the other hand it amused me! :>

Well i've set the question withn the java forum because i'm pretty sure that java is the way to go and i've asked the question of language jsut to start a small debate...

Yes i know that netmetting is one way but i have to have a system which adaptes to our present system. Even though i was never challenged this far i will never quit and i'll definetly give it a try.

I'm asking for some help..within the Java forum for any ideas regarding Voice and Video conferencing and text conferencing!

Thanks once again

Nick

thanks dbleyl!

i'll read into it!

Thanks once again
