Can anyone tell me why i am unable to conference in calls to/from this destination/Route.

It is the route to Voicemail and i have been told that we cannot conference the MD down a voicemail link. If this is the case, a) Why, b) how does the MD know this is voicemail.

Hi

There are specific fields in DPNSS used by ericsson to indicate that it's a VM. Ex if you call to a dest and have to press a suffix to get DTMF and for call to the VM system you do not. It's achived by using signaling that tells MD it's a VM system.

I fought with Ericsson before to change this limitation but did not succed. The answer is that if you call a voice mail that should be no reason to make a inqury. If this is prevented you minimaize the possibillity for the user to make a misstake.

Though the VM system could be used for other things but not in the world of Ericsson.

Ah, so it looks like you have had similar issues and there is no solution. We wanted to use the "record" feature that is available on our voicemail, i guess there may a chance to do this by routing the call externally and back in through DDI?.. Thanks for you help
