Hello guru's!
In the ipo I set up a conference meet me. Internally it works great but I would like to be able to have an outside caller calling reaching reception she then transfers it to 776 and it just puts the caller on hold.
A module was created in vmpro called conference and then a transfer action to 776.
Does the caller need to enter a conference pin or bridge number first?

Thanks

No, if your short code is set like this all she should have to do is transfer it to the short code, and then hit transfer again.
So the receptionist answered the call, presses transfer and dials 776 and then presses transfer again.

That's because you have to join the conference too...

If an external party is in conference without you, you'll hear music until the room is active with the owner of the conference.

A Meet Me conference doesn't have an owner. If you transfer to the shortcode for the meet me then it will go straight in. The Receptionist isn't completing the transfer as Mojo says. You can test by sending an ICR to the shortcode.

Thanks everyone for your input......just one more question.
When a call is initiated by the IPO user using a Polycom conference unit and they want to add people into that conference bridge say (776 or short code *63/dial/776)how can they accomplish this? Do the other callers have to call into the bridge only?

thanks!!

@IPOLackey If it doesn't then how come there's hold music till my extension joins? hmmmmmmmm

The IPO has a built in security that will put all participants on hold until the conference owner joins. That happens when your bridge number is equal to a user number.
If you make the bridge something different then they all join immediately.
I build most of my bridges like that to make sure nobody uses the conf bridge feature if they remember the password without permission.
