Conference meet me not working

Hello everyone
I have created a conference meet me short code and it is not working, I get a busy signal

extensions are 3 digits

I made it like this

short code 4XXX
feature conference meet me
Telephone number N

This allows me to create meet me conferences on each extension

when i dial this, it gives me a busy signal

i even tried

short code 500
feature conference meet me
number 500

i still get busy tone

The customer wanted :

shortcode 1689XXX
feature conference meet me
number N

so i created it

IPO rls 9.0 essential edition

i believe so, its been that way for a few releases now. the only way you will be able to conference is by pressing the conference button on your phone and conferencing people together, no meet me unless you have preferred.

I have a few customers who've installed IP500v2 Essential Edition systems within the last year or two, and their old phone systems had a Meet Me conferencing option for internal calls (something along the lines of them paging everyone and saying to press the "Meet Me" button so they could have impromptu internal conference calls). If they just want to do internal conference calls, is there a short code that I can use to program a button to perform this function, even though the systems are Essential Edition? The systems are a mix of software revisions R8.1(43) through R8.1(81), analog lines, embedded voicemail, and Essential Edition w/9508 phones, although one of the sites has 1416 phones.

Yes, press the conf button on the phones and dial the other user, and press it again. Do this for every person you want to add.

I know the 1416 has a Conference button, but the 9508 only has a Conference soft key when you're on a call, or is that incorrect, or do you mean configure a Conference button? Also, the customer just wants a pre-programmed button that the internal users can press to reach the conference when they hear the page from the boss telling them to go to the phone for the conference call. They don't want to dial each user and add them to the conference, they want to just hit a button to join the conference. I apologize if I'm not being clear.

YOU CANT, you need preferred to do this, you have essential

The short code looks wrong. If you have 4XXX then you should have 4N to carry the 4 over.

you will need preferred edition to do it this way. you used to be able on older release I think before the essential came about but now to do a meet me conference you need preffered lic.
