We are experiencing low volume levels on conference calls that use bridge service for 4 or more connections.

I spoke with our NEC tech and he is reluctant that boosting Pad level would help. Are there any other alternatives to increase the volume level for voice output?

Current setup is 3 Dterm IP phones for remote sites and one PolyCom (analog) at the host site.

Thanks.

How do you call this "bridge service"?
Is it a trunk connection? Or are you referring to the conference card in the IPS? Either way you can easily adjust PAD settings based on the type of connection.
The tech maybe reluctant to boost the levels being that an increase in the transmission with IP phones for a conference can sometimes lead to echo on regular calls.

The connection uses a toll free phone line via GoToMeeting or WebEx. We are using both services to test and still have audio issues when all 4 connect. The host can hear fine but the remote sites complain that the sound is faint on their IP phone speaker phones. The host site has a PolyCom. We are not using a conference card in the IPS.

I might try to use another Polycom at a second site to see if it improves for the 4 connections.

You are correct in that our tech is reluctant to mess with the padding settings due to possible echo or squealing.

Any suggestions would be great.

Ok try changing the PAD levels for a STA-CO connection or STA-DTI, if it is a digital span, in CM 42. This will at least increase the tranmit and recieve to the polycom unit which I suspect is an analog device. As for the IP sets are they also dialing out similar trunks? Are the trunks analog or digital?
Either way you can typically increase the recieve level on the IP sets with CM 67 without causing echo. Its a matter of adjusting and testing and adjusting again.
