Hello,
we have a G3siV6 and I have been asked by management to try to find a solution to our conference call restrictions...hmmm I may be wrong but I told them even the latest greatest software only allows 6 parties at one time. Is there other options out there that allow for more than 6 except for the usual AT&T set-up?

Thanks!
Tina

I do not know of a Definity Solution. But here we have an S8700 and Use Global Conference for our conferencing needs.

Awhile back Avaya made a big deal about IP Office being used as a Conference Bridge. You may want to look into it. Although with a V6 you may be able to sell them on an upgrade to take advantage of Meet-me Conferencing. Still 6 though...

If Avaya made a $30,000 Special Application feature that would allow 20 to be conference I probably would buy it..

In the future everything will work...

I've just purchased an IP Office for exactly this solution. I have a Definity and am going to attach it to the Definity via private-tie T1. I think I'm spending about $15,000 for hardware/software, plus a DS1 card (via ebay) in the Definity. This will initially give me 48 ports (two T1s) in the IP office, although I only plan to attach one initially. The IP office will support 4 T1s total, allowing me to have 96 trunks for conferencing.

Plus the new conference software offers web-based management and WebEx style conferences. I'm taking delivery of the hardware in the next day or two and should have it working soon. I'll let you know how it goes.

NX01, You can do it for a lot less than $15K too, I just wanted a larger, more expandable unit.

Didn't Avaya use to have a system called Forum that could conferance more than 6 persons? I don't see anything on it now. The way to go I would think is contact a AVaya rep and see if they have a replacement.

P.S. And a message to all posters,if you want to get the best response to a question, please read FAQ222-2244 first, thanks. In addition, if I ask a question in a reply to a post, and that question is not answered, then I usually will not continue trying to assist the person.

In theory, you can sneak around the 6-caller limit by having one individual dial into two seperate conferences. thread690-418111 talks about this method. However, I have never actually tried using this, so use at your own risk!

From doing a little research and digging for a client, we found the IP office to be the best solution. You can setup an IP 403 running 2.1 with 2 T1's giving up to 48 channels into the conference center. The cost was minimal. The only reason to go higher than a 403 is if you need the additional channels, but again you'll end up spending more. The 403 will support up to 48 parties and the 412 will support up to 96 via the direct T1's. From what I Have found the 403 works great in the envrionment we are working.

Additionally the additional cost of the "Conference Center" (NPL about $5k) is worth is, allowing you to schedule conferences, and do the web interface such as "webex" which some of you may be familiar with, showing Powerpoint presentations or web based presentations. Additionally, if you go this route, it's strongly suggested to include the Voicemail Pro for various prompting, including PIN prompting and better routing of the caller into the conference.

Yeah, don't buy IP 403 or 406 without the conference center or vmpro or you'll be sorry. You need conference center to schedule the conferences, assign security codes, and do web conferencing, without it the Administrator has to micro-manage everything including scheduling conferences making sure there is enough channels available and setting up security codes. I've made that mistake and we are now going back to purchase conference center the cost is minimal for the benifit and added feature of web conference. If you're currently outsourcing, you can easily justify this purchase with ROI in a few months depending on what you're spending.

We have several 403's at our remote sites and an S8700 at our central site, I would like to setup a conference bridge and am not sure which system to do that on. Our IPOffices are using integrated Audix so I don't have VM lite or PRO, and I didn't know about conference center.

All I want to be able to do is setup a conference so that we can have a person from each site dial in to a main number for a conference call we do twice a month between all the offices.

Any suggestions on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
