I have a site that the transfer button works fine, the problem is when they try to use the Conf/tran button nothing happens. I had 3 people try it on there phones and it doesn't work on there either. I t there away to turn Conf ability on and off for every phone. I checked the programming on all the phones and I even moved the Conf/Tran button to another key.

I previously read your post about “join” creating a conference. My questions were in response to you asking “but I still want to know why the conf/tran button doesn't work on any phone”

To assist you with this question you need to answer what the display reads when you press the conf button, and if there is any difference when you press feat 3, instead of using the button. When you follow MMarshalls instructions above- where does the procedure fail?

I would still like to know if anyone else has ever used “join” in creating a conference, because from my experience, that is not supposed to happen, so perhaps there is something wrong with your system in general that is causing the “join” soft key to do that, and the conf. feature to not work.

And what system/ version is this?- maybe it is something new

I've always been under the same impression as bkrike - that join is the same as pressing the release button.

OK forget everything I said about Conf/Tran above as I was getting an echo from the phones I was using.

Your on a call
hit Hold
hit conf
hit intercom key dial 2nd number
hit conf
hit held line
you are now in a 3 way conf.

This has to be the DUMBEST Nortel way of doing a conf I have ever seen, but it works. The customer tried it and it works. there not happy they have to hit so many keys.

Thanks everyone for the help on this.

try:

your on a call...

hit intercom key (call goes on hold)dial 2nd number
hit conf
hit held line -you are now in a 3-way conf

you have two extra-(not needed) steps on your last post.
