I am using Excel 2003 SP2 and I have a pivot table in which I have placed some conditional formatting for the subtotals. In short the data looks like this:
Code:
Company Position Qty Cost/Sh Cost
ABC Company PFD C 500 $1.00 500.00
               PFD D 250 $2.00 500.00
[b]ABC Company Total 750 $1.33 1,000.00[/b]

The conditional formatting makes the totals bolded text and grey background fill. The Cost/Sh column is a calculated field that I would prefer NOT show a total because it is actually meaningless. Also, the Qty is a data field that I would prefer not show a total again for the same reason. I have tried conditional formatting to make the font color the same as the background color which works when you are viewing the pivot table, however, when the pivot table is printed the totals are printed as well. Is there a way to prevent these totals from printing?

Any help would be apprecitated.

Thanks and best regards,
-Lloyd

Ok, I found a partial answer to my question. If I right click on the Company field and in Field Settings instead of "Automatic" subtotals I switch to "Custom" and select "Sum" the calculated field "Cost/Sh" no longer shows subtotal.

The Qty data field subtotal may be one I'll have to live with unless someone can help me out!

Thanks again for all responses.

xlhelp,

Thanks for the direction to the site. There's some really great stuff there, however, I wasn't able to determine how any of those solutions would hide ONLY the subtotal on the Qty column while leaving all other subtotals in tact. Am I missing something?

THanks

If time permits, I will look at the code and see how it can suit you. But, today is a crazy day.

Hope someone else can look at it sooner for you.

Thanks.

Me transmitte sursum, Caledoni!
