Hi,

I'm using Crystal XI I have a report that can have a different layout depending on the part number, there are 4 different types of part as below

part type 1 - A1234
part type 2 - M1234
Part type 3 - P1234
part type 4 - MK1234, AK1234 or PK1234

So I've created different sections so if part is A2056 then it would use header A, if part number is M2056 then it would use header B and so on, I've done this using a simple suppression formula on the section expert as below.

{PART_NO} like 'M*'

The only issue i have is for part type 4 as these show when they shouldn't.

Has anyone any ideas how to get around this?

Thanks,

Mick.

Mick,
I'm assuming that 1234 are just example numbers?
Since type 4 also has a part number starting with M, (and S and P), I would use InStr({PART_NO}, "K") instead of {PART_NO} like 'M*'.
I hope that helps.
Laurie
