I will have to examine the file very carefully to see if there is anything to prevent its dissemination. I can email it to anyone that would like it, but it would be better if someone can help me find a place to put it so it can be downloaded. I don't have a website to put it on.

I can't remember exactly how I got it, but I think that someone posted an email address and we responded and requested it. you can send a request to southernfriedyanqui at yahoo dot com and I'll send it to whomever wants it. just so you know in advance, I don't keep that account up all the time so it could be several hours before I respond.

You're right. I did share the file "Name_and_Age.xls" with Tek-Tips members by posting my email address. I gladly shared it with hundreds who responded, probably including yourself.
Unfortunately, Tek-Tips now has a policy that no email addresses can be posted. This is related to problems Tek-Tips management experienced related to SPAM.
Fortunately, "Dreamboat", a longtime Tek-Tips member, requested my permission (as the creator of the file) to post the file on their website - TheOfficeExperts.com.
Here's a link to their Free Downloads page.
They've re-named the file - you'll find it under the name "CuteQuiz" - probably a more appropriate name.
A little background trivia on my creation of the file...
I had received a "very simple file" that included similar "name and age" questions. However, the complete file was only ONE Page, and the formatting was at a "novice" level. It was a "start", but it naturally needed improvement.
The MAIN reason, however, for my taking the time to develop my "elaborate" version, is related to my having worked with computer science college graduates. Their courses included some exposure to Microsoft Office, and because they were now "college graduates", they believed they knew "pretty much everything" about Excel.
Meanwhile, I quickly learned from their daily work habits and questionable methods of creating applications in Excel, that indeed the course content for Excel left MUCH to be desired.
One small but "significant" example... was their insistence that "Range Names" were not only "not important", but that in Excel it wasn't even possible to create Range Names. As covered in the file, the use of "Range Names" in Excel is EXTREMELY important and useful.
So the computer science graduates became my underlying motivation to go ahead and develop a "significant demo" of the importance of using "Range Names". It quickly became obvious that I needed to include other topics such as the (much expanded) use of "Conditional Formatting", and the Worksheet Protection and formulas used in the creation of this "instructional demo". I’ve always found that learning can be MUCH more interesting and easier if HUMOR is incorporated. I’m therefore pleased by your response and from the hundreds of others that you do appreciate this humorous approach to learning.
PLEASE feel free to distribute this file – including posting it on your website if you have one. I would only ask that you make sure to email the "un-answered" version, as this will ensure that the "students" will gain full benefit from answering the questions and experiencing the humor – in addition of course to the significant Excel experience. And you’re welcome to use the filename of "CuteQuiz", "Name_and_Age", or whatever else you prefer.
One final point... Because there are still versions of the "simple" file out there that others have possibly already viewed, they might ignore THIS version simply because the FIRST page is similar – and they expect there is ONLY the ONE page. You therefore might want to clarify that THIS version is indeed "significant" and WELL worth their time in going through EVERY page.

Dale, that was a great service you provided in creating that wonderful teaching tool. Several people who have seen it here have used it to learn the fundamentals of conditional formatting.
I think I remember that we even did some wierd posting to that thread so that it would stay on top so everyone would get a chance to see it before it got buried into the next page.
