This is a newbie question(s). On the Apache website for the download of Tomcat 5.5.16, they state that the Native Connector 1.1.1 included in the binaries have a lot of bugs and urge you to download 1.1.2 which is supposed to fix these bugs. When I download version 1.1.2 using the link supplied, I get source code.

I'm a little confused about the "native" connector terminology. Is this the same as what I consider "regular" Tomcat Connectors (the JK Tomcat Connectors) used by Apache to send request to Tomcat? If not, where can I find the binaries for Windows XP?

I've looked through the JK Tomcat Connectors and was going to compare the source code, but I can't find a JK Tomcat Connector with a 1.1.2 vesion number. In fact, I've only been able to download the source for the JK 1.2.15 and the layout looks different to me.

Thanks for any help!

So I think I've figured out that the answer is no, they are not the same. I think the "native" connector is the APR (Apache Portable Runtime). Someone correct me if I'm wrong. You can find out more here:

And download the latest binaries here:

Thanks,
Kenjan
