Hi,

I would like to concatenate the following two fields into a third field on the same table. Is that posible or do I need to do a query?

[txtpath]+ [txtfile]

Bottom line is I'd like to separate out the path name for ease of updating.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Dolores

Why using a 3rd field only to store a derived/calculated value ?
Simply add a column in the query:
txtFullPath: txtPath & txtFile

Hope This Helps, PH.

I was trying to avoid using a query and just use the table.

How would you use a table without a query ?????

Just on the form. The path and file name gets referenced on the form -

...oh - should I just make the field on the form a formula?

Add a TextBox in your form with the ControlSource set to:
=[txtPath] & [txtFile]
