please help i need to connect with my laptop and comwin straight to the pabx
my question:
what cable do i use ?
where do i connect on the pabx ? serial port that says "service"
what must the port settings on the laptop be ? "none", "even" etc. ?
regards
Use a LAN cable straight through
Plug it into the Service port or the Atlantic LAN port
set your laptop to be 192.0.2.100 255.255.255.0
open comwin
connect to 192.0.2.3 the default LAN connection
any suggestions for what i need to do regular backups on ? what is important ? like reporter ? system settings ? proteus ? please advise what you guys back up ?
On the HiPath there are different backups.
To backup from the memory to the hard disk
EXE-UPDAT:BP,ALL;
EXE-UPDAT:A1,ALL;
then you can do a REGEN where all of the system commands are stored in a text file.
Other backups that can be done is a copy out to a Magneto Optical disk or a Flash Card.
You can automate them via the CRON command
thank you sir. . .not sure if you answered this before, but Hipath Procenter Reporter, this are being used for reports, can this be backed up as well ?
hi all, any advise please, we are getting echo on the calls, you dial a number and you here yourself, then ypou redial and all fine, soimebody suggested that we test the ISDN PRI's ? any suggestions please ?
Yes this could be an ISDN or a Carrier/PTT problem
Ask your PTT to check for you
I don't know about backup of Procenter Reporter but I might be able to find out soon
All of the ProCenter stuff is on the ProCenter server, DEPENDING on how your organization set it up. If you are using the free SQL server client that comes with ProCenter your database should be on the ProCenter server. if your IT department is backing up that server you should be good to go. If your organization has its own SQL server and you chose to add a license to that and configure your ProCenter on your company's SQL server then it should be getting backed up along with everything else on that server (assuming they are backing it up...).
Very important things to remember is to read the ProCenter docs about backup. There are files and I think directories on the server that must be excluded from the backup. it is a picky beast. There is also a very specific procedure to shut it down and control how it comes back up when you go to do windows updates and the like. You need to shut down ALL of the ProCenter services before you shut down the server to make sure no database corruption occurs.
I don't believe any of the actual report data is saved - only the report definitions themselves. The data is queried from the database (or certain log files) each time the report is run.
hi sir, i opened macro, choose retrieve system variant (no action) then went down below the line and right clicked and chose mml editor, still no action. . .
