computer will only run in safe mode

My computer gets stuck after the windows 98 screen. It stops when the computer says

c:> set blaster=A200 I5 D1 H1 P300 T6

Does anyone know what is happening? Thanks

Is it locked or can you type commands at the prompt? What's in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file after the SET BLASTER line? Can you F8 to safe mode or a DOS prompt?

That actually randomly happened to me on my other computer before. What I did was start it in safe mode after the freeze then shut down in safe mode... then I turned the power back on booted it up in normal mode. For some reason that worked every time :/

It is locked at the command prompt. I will try rebooting again. Thanks

Just before you computer boots (right when it beeps) start hitting the F8 key and when you get the menu choose option #2 which should be "Logged"

It will created a bootlog.txt file in your C:\ and at least you will be able to edit that and see the last thing that gets processed as I am quite certain that this is beyond the autoexec.bat at this point, however you only see the autoexec.bat stuff because that is all that's put to the screen.
