Computer hangs when...

Hi Please help me!
I have Win2k with servicepacks

And when i play Halflife,counterstrike
Suddenly it hangs

It´s only when i play "CS" and not in another game!
I have tried to reinstal Halflife, change drivers,
so i doesent think that is The game that is corrupt!
i think it is a Hardware problem!

please help me in someways!

Have you updated with the latest driver for the graphics card? Do you have enough RAM in your machine? Do you have enough disk space? If you play via a modem you proberly loose the connection sometimes. Does the graphics card support the resolution you have set in the game options. Have in mind that you can run with both "Direct3D" and "3DFX". Be sure you are using the one that your graphics card support. My advice is that you try to set the resolution down, and try to play the game. If there is no problem playing with the new resolution, then you have found your problem.

Yeah, there's a driver fix for ATI cards in CS. It sounds like your describing exactly what was happening to me.

ASUS A7V266
ASUS GeForce GTS/pro 64md DDR


I think it can be someting in the register but not sure!
i use Win2k...
WHere can i find a regcleaner for win2k?

Have you installed the latest software compatibility update? I know this addresses some issues with a number of games.

I HAVE FOUND IT.... AT LAST.... THE ANSWER!!!!!!

and get the 'WINDOWS 2000 AGP UPDATE'

This will sort out your 'hanging games' problem.

I had this problem for SOOOOOO long, and finally... IT IS SORTED!!!!

Just like to stress... That this problem has been baffling me for AGES... and I mean AGES!!!

Please tell your freinds about this if they are using an AMD-K7 board... They will probably be gteeing the same problem if they try to use DirectX-8 applications or any games built after the 'Max Payne' sort of quality games started to be released.

Like I say... Tell all your freinds, Some of the people out there will have been banging their heads against the monitor over this one!!!
