Computer Freezing?

Theres a computer that keeps freezing every so often and i was wondering to see if it was a hardware problem or a software problem....if anyone knows please tell me and what i can do to correct this problem.

Run it in Safe mode.
If the freezing continues, then it's probably a hardware problem.
Loose components and cable connections, overheating(CPU, system, video card), and bad memory are the usual causes, but do not rule out a bad power supply or video card.

If it runs ok in Safe mode, then do a clean boot to troubleshoot the problem.
 
Also make sure you have sufficient case/cpu cooling. Heat will lock 'er up.
