Hello all,

With NT you could put a comment in a computer's network account, and that comment will show up in Network Places on a Win 2K computer when browsing the network. We have recently migrated to Win 2K servers, and are upgrading our PCs. When a new PC is added to AD, I cannot add comments that will show up in Network Places. My boss really likes having this information and wants me to get Win 2K to show the comments.

I recently saw a script that allows one to set a computer's comments in AD so that the comments show up in Network Places. I cannot remember where I saw this script, but I think it was on this forum. I have searched to no avail, and I am hoping that someone will know about this and point me in the right direction.

Thanks,
JEB

What are your Client Computers? If they are windows XP put the comment in the "computer Discription" field under the "Computer Name" tab in the System Properties

Its Win 2K all the way through - servers and PCs.
