Can you take in blank pages of paper?

On some subjects I like to write out a question and my associated knowledge before clicking those pesky multiple choice boxes.

Most testing centers will give you one of those dry erase markers and a small pad to write on. It doesn't work real well for jotting copious notes but you can do some quick math or jot down things for quick reference. They collect the pad at the end of the exam. It's all about the security of the exam and keeping people from cheating.

I always just try to over study for my exams so that I am well prepared and have an extra margin for error. Exam stress is bad enough so I try and negate it by really knowing the material.

just did mine,

They gave me 2 pieces of blank paper, marked like 1 of 2 with my name and date on it.

You have to return both after you are done.

Like schase I just took (and passed on my first try) both the A+ Hardware and A+ Core OS, on 5/14/04. The Prometric testing center I used allowed me both sides of a single sheet of paper that needed to be returned at the end of the test.

What was on the exams which was new to you.?

When I took my Network+ a few weeks ago ( and passed yippeeee! ) they gave me a sort of wipe board that you could write on in felt tip. It had to be returned afterwards.

It was all I needed. I just used it for describing some of the complicated questions in diagramatical form so that I could understand them better. Comptia write some of thier questions in a roundabout sort of way and you have to often filter out the chaff from the real issue.
