Hello all,

Can anyone recommend some software that will archive all daily incoming and outgoing e-mails including emails send internally? I need to archive the emails so that it meets regulatory compliance from Sarbanes-oxley, SEC, NASD etc...

I was looking into advisormail.net which is archiving service which has a monthly fee. I rather not do a monthly fee and just have it all done in-house and have it maintained.

I also looked at a open-sourced but it requires ActiveDirectory. Unfortunately were still on NT domain =|
I seen other email archiving software but they all seem to want a W2K active directory setup instead of the NT domain that we have. Anything out there that will work with a NT domain and exchange 5.5 ? Like have a server setup with the archive software. The mail would come in and hit the archive server first so it can be archived and then relay/send it to exchange 5.5 for distribution.

Anymore recommendations for me to look at would be great!

thanks
Laura

Thanks for the suggestions everyone!.

Another question on journalling. CAn exchange 5.5 be setup to journal only certain users?

Thanks
Laura

Journaling is an option placed on the Message Transfer Agent. It's possible to configure it to capture messages for just a Server, Site or Organization, but only if the message passes through a MTA that has journaling enabled.

Depending on your structure, you may end up doubling your WAN e-mail transfers, if say, you had two Exchange servers at different physical sites with Journaling enabled, and one Archive mailbox. All e-mails passing through the remote (to the archive mailbox) MTA will be copied across the WAN to the archive mailbox.
