Does anyone know how to disable complex passwords in Exchange 2007? When I create new users through Exchange 2007, it forces me to use complex passwords. How can I use simple passwords?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

when you create a new user in AD or exchange you are still creating a AD user. You will need to disable complex passwords in the GPO.

I should have mentioned that. I have disabled complex password. However, the problem still remains. It seems like Exchange is forcing the strong password.

Thanks

If you try and create a new account in the OU that you have been using when getting this error via Exchange, do you get the same error when using simple passwords?

When you create a new user in Exchange GUI it just fires off the relevant EMS commands. EMS then talks directly to AD to create the new object - which is why I'd be suprised if it's Exchange thats forcing it.

It could be an AD replication issue. If you've disabled complex passwords in the Default Domain Policy, has that policy been updated on the DC that Exchange is talking to?

There was a replication issue with AD. The password complexity has been removed. Thanks to everyone who responded.
