My company has just recently implemented the use of MS Project 2000 and MS Project Central. Once a project has been completed, is there anyway to eliminate it from view in Project Central's timesheet view?

Thanks,

Yes. You have to go to the admin options, delete elements from the database. Before you do this, you must put the server on single mode.

Hmm. Thank you for the response. =)

Unforunately, I'been told this answer, and I find it an unacceptable one. My company runs reports, including year-end reports, on the estimated and actual hours of these projects. Deleting them would defeat the purpose of having them all in a database.

I have found the ability to view only open tasks in the timesheet, but that eliminates the Non-Working Hours Project from view as well.

Does anyone else have experience with this?

Ok, one way of doing it (maybe longwinded and there maybe a more efficient way of doing it but here goes..).

Go into Admin mode, Select Views/Specify views - select your designated user types and go through them one by one, assigning them acces ONLY to the 'active' projects. Of course leave ADMINS access to seeing ALL projects - if you wish.

Hope that helps and makes sense!

I think I understand. The project is complete, so simply remove access to it. A little burdensome to go through each user, but it is a solution I can do as we dont exactly complete tons of projects all at once. (Heh- unfortunately.)

Thank you very much for the response! I will be trying this out post-haste!

No probs. Just a thought - may not have made myself very (not for the first time!) - you don't have to got through each USER - just each TYPE of user. For example, each user will be associated with a user category (sorry I forget the terminology) such as "Administrator", "Project Manager" etc. Just remove access to the 'archived' projects from these user categories. Much easier and quicker than going through each user. (I think this is under the "Specify Categories" menu on Admin view).
