Compiled reports print in wrong orientation 1

We have several compiled reports that run on different workstations on different printers. The reports are set up as landscape, but when they are run on the workstations, they print portrait. I am using version 8.0. I followed the instructions on the web site for the same problem with version 5, but that didn't help. The user can change the orientation on the printer setup, but they do many reports and it isn't until after it prints the wrong way that they realize they have to change the orientation. Any suggestions?

I have never gotten a clear answer to this one, but you can try the following. It worked for one of my customers. You might get a better answer from someone else.

Create a new printer instance on each PC called "report printer" and set it's default properties to landscape. Now, on the development PC, create a "Report Printer", and set the reports to that printer before compiling. I was having the same issue and this is what I did to solve it. When compiling a report it creates two additional files, the reportname.crf and the reportname.exe. The .crf file is the key here. Run the compiled report and ensure that it's in landscape or however you'd like it and then go to the .crf file and make it a read only file. This should lock the report to that specification that the last user (you) set it up as. Since we had multiple users with multiple O/S and printers, the orientation would get, inadvertently, changed frequently...this solved our problem. Hope it works for you, as well.
