I get the following error when I try to make my database a .MDE file:

Compile Error in hidden module: Form_National Geographics

I have searched everything I can think of about that form and can't find anything that might be the problem, and I don't have and modules!

Tamarin

Go into the design of any module.
Go to Tools ¦ Compile All modules.
If there are compile errors, this will show you what they are.
You should always do this before creating an .mde file, as it will save you the step should there be compile errors.
Jim Lunde
compugeeks@hotmail.com
<a href= Application Development

Err there is no Tools ¦ Compile All Modules

Not an option in Access 97???

Tamarin

Go to Tools¦Options then click View tab, checkmark the show hidden objects box and then view the hidden module. Search for the error there. (hopefully it is not too big)
Chris

Do you have a form called?
Form_National Geographics
or just
National Geographics

DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.

Just National Geographics. in the error it put it at Form_National Geographics.

ChrisTheProgrammer:
Where do I look for the hidden module? it's not under modules...

Tamarin
If you have any normal "hidden" forms, you can find them by going under Tools/Options/View Tab, and select hidden objects. Then when you go to your Forms Window in your database, the names of any hidden forms will appear, though slightly grayed out compared to the others. to unhide a form, right click on it and choose Properties and toggle off the Attributes: Hidden checkbox.

If you do not find what you're looking for here, the fastest way to get rid of this problem is probably just to create a new database and import all your objects into it. That generally solves most problems with corrupted databases.

I tried Importing it but it did the same thing, I just copied over my one main table and the form off of that table.

Need to know exactly what you've tried & results:

1. Is the "hidden" form showing in your table window? Is it the same form you copied into the new database?
2. If not, did you do the "unhide" procedure above?
3. When you go into design view of the form, then click on the "code" icon on the toolbar, is "compile All Modules" now visible?
4. Is it greyed so that you can't click it?
5. If not, what happens when you click this? If it gives you an error and goes to a line of code, note the line here.
