Compatibility..

Hello All..

What editions of SQL Server 7.0 and SQL Server 6.5 if any can be installed / run on Win XP Pro OS.

I've been to Microsoft's web site (

http://www.microsoft.com/sql)

and can't find anything about XP for versions 6.5 and/or 7. All they talk about is SQL Server 2000 of which the Personal Edition and Desktop Engine run on Windows XP Pro.

6.5 and 7 both came out before XP so there's a good chance they aren't compatible.

If I find anything more, I'll post it here for you. But like I said, MS's web site seems to be going solely to SQL Server 2000.

and download the Product Documentation for 7.0, it might have what you are looking for. (I'm at work and can't download this file to check it out for you).

I FOUND IT!!!

Go to the bottom where SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS are listed....the DESKTOP version is supported on XP PRO.
