Hi, I am trying to set up a new 6110 and will be linking it with the symposium. I am having a hardtime with the language difference. Please can someone tell me what compares to a skillset? I am a bit confused as to what on the 6110 is agent group and queue. what does the 6110 use for ACD? Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance AJK

Telly,

The issue we have is path replacement. Apparently the Mitel does not forward transfer update messages, so the Nortel will not do a path replacement proposal. This is an issue when networking multi-sites and trying to remove unnecessary call paths, using Q.SIG. Go ahead and post if you do not mind, and I will compare it to mine. The same config worked fine with a Cisco router, so I think it could be the Mitel just does not pass along all the messages it should.

Hey there srmega41, what is it you want me to post? I would be happy to. One thing to know is that in order for the qsig to work properly you need to have a patch. I will get the number for you if you want. We are not using the patch and hense its not been very seamless. We do have the lamps working now without the patch and caller id working. Let me know what you need. AJK

Patch on which system, Nortel or Mitel? I would be interested in the Nortel print of the D-Channel, since that is really the signalling part. If you have the patch data, that would also be helpful. Are you running 6.0 software on the Mitel?

Thanks,

Scott M.

Here is the dch on the nortel and yes, you need a patch on the nortel depending on the release. we dont use the patch and have used some work arounds. I will find the patch number and email it to you. What release for nortel are you using? Yes, we are using 6 release on the mitel. I have more info wrt mitel if you want that config to. AJK

Mitelman, I am having a bit of a problem. The agent is set up as is the queue. How do I map the dnis or acd to the queue (skillset)? Thank you for your help. AJK

Scott, you also need on the mitel side to set en bloc = true or ld wont work. let me know if you need further assistance. Like I said you "need" the patch to make qmwi and qmwo work properly. What we did to get around this is use the mailbox (mitel) on the farside rather than worrying about integrating a mitel phone to a nortel mailbox. If you use the patch or have a late release on the nortel the RCAP will change specifically NDI which will become ND2 i think. Let me know if you need further info.

Hi, actually i got the acd queue number working and going to proper agent. Now I just need to know how to overflow after 2 seconds to another DID on the nortel! Any help is appreciated. This is getting kinda fun! AJK

One question and one comment. I noticed you have the Side set to NET on your D-Channel.
CO_TYPE STD
SIDE NET
CNEG 1
RLS ID **
Is this required? Mitel gave me no direction on this, and I have it set up as USR.

The second thing I was going to mention is that you can add a PR_TRIGS to help with path replacement
Code:
PR_TRIGS DIV 2 3
           CNG 2 3
          [b]CTR2 2 3[/b]

This allows the Nortel to make path replacements, per the Q.931 standard. I have no idea if you need this in your environment, but it might be helpful.

We are running an 81C with Succession 3.0, connected to a 3300 with an imbedded PRI card, an 11C running 3.0 connected to a 3300 with an imbedded card, and a 11C running 4.0 connected to a 3300 using an NSU.

Issue is a call from A to B then transferred to C works, but B still has call paths built in and out of the Q.SIG trunk. These should be optimized, but are not being torn down. We have a software designer and engineer working on it as we speak, and they have until 2:00 PM local time (it is 7:30 am as I write this) to get it fixed.

This would be fun if it was not so darn stressful.

Scott M.

Hi, does USER work? We really had to play to get things going. You are right; its horribly stressful. We are almost where we want to be though...............finally. AJK

USER does work. In the Protocol Assignments form there is an option to set the Mitel as Master (True or False).

Can you expand on the ENBLOC a little more. All three of the systems (Well two fo the three, the other is using the NSU and we don't have IMAT to get access to it) have Enbloc set to False.

I know what it does, but did you get some information from someone at Mitle, or by just trial and error. The reason I ask is one of the software engineers was in here yesterday and looked at that EXACT same prompt and left it as FALSE.

Fun, fun, fun,

Scott M.

the feature en bloc is so new that it is not in the books. mitel also set ours to false and international calls out of the remote office got chopped down to i think 11 numbers. we ended up telling mitel what we did to make it work! its some new feature used with qsig. our mitel is configured as the slave. AJK

Thanks, The software engineer just showed up and apparently there is a suspected bug in the 6.0 that is causing the issues we are having. We have to get another call trace to capture in order to verify it, but we will see. The issue you describe sounds right on, based on what we could find out about enbloc vs. Overlay.

I will keep you up to date as things go forward.

Scott M.

hey there, another tidbit, make sure in bearer capabilities all calls are set to fixed (two or three places) not call by call.

do you know how to get overflow working( ie if agent is busy ). I have been following the help files but am not getting anywhere. i want the calls to overflow to a DID that is not registered on the mitel. any ideas?

talk to you soon.

it is in your acd path ! are you saying you want
overflow to forwarded an off premise did?

Hi cwc3! Its all working now! Thank you for your help.AJK

Hi, I put a timer on a symposium script. When the timer expires the call is routed over to the mitel. The number then is a Path on the Mitel. The mitel Path is then configured that in the event that a timer expires or the agents are not logged in the call routes back over a different DID (from initial going in) into the symposium. The secondary script on the Symposium is then given a higher priority than the first as then the callers have gone in the symp, through the mitel for overflow and back into the symp. Two DIDS are required on the symposium for billing purposes. CWC3, I am not sure if I answered the question :) Let me know if I didnt! AJK
