I am not to sure if I am posting this in the right forum, so feel free to moan at me!

I am looking for some software that will show me what changes have been made to my system after I have installed some software. If anyone can help, it will be much appreciated.

Thanks

Do a search on Hotfiles.com for regsnap. This is a shareware program that will allow you see the changes made to the registry by taking snapshots before and after.

Any of the commercial software packagers (Wise is the the one I use.) function by looking at before and after snapshots of the entire system to determine what files / setings changed.

Any commercial tools package that has an uninstaller (Norton Utilities and Clean Sweep among others) also function by tracking what changed so that the changes can be undone.

Many thanks for your help. I haven't heard of the Regsnap software, so I will give that a bash.

Regview is similar and it takes snapshots of the registry, INI files, and drive contents.

Try Install Watch. It has some nice features and is pretty easy to use

SysTrack 2.0 will, among other things, show you changes to hardware & software (adds, deletes, changes) as well as any configurations to hardware (ie: video card settings, NIC card settings, etc.)
