Hi! Guys ,
We are having a DW in a DB2 environment. Currently the production DW is containing information about Cargo Cost which has actually flown. This data is kept for 2+1 years for analysis. A new requirement has come in for keeping the same cost information for 35 days but based on Cargo that has been booked. The report to be generated is based on the flight dates. So the report may contain information which may have already flown or may be in a booked only status.

Has any one come across this requirement. If yes can they please tell us how they have implemented this in their DW environment.

Appreciate your help in this.

Thanks a ton
Regards

I have a similar situation in my project which is on oracle. I have a fact table in which i store activities performed by salesreps. A new requirement has come in to store the activites that were planned for the rep and then produce a report comparing the planned activites against the actual activities.

I have 2 fact tables, one for planned activities and other for actual activities. Both fact tables have foriegn keys to all the dimensions. I join the two fact tables based on the foreign keys.
