Compare two columns in excel

Does anyone know how to compare 2 columns in Excel ? (just text in the columns)Thanks

In the next column enter
=IF(A1=B1,"SAME","DIFFERENT")
and copy down.....there's many more ways but without more info as to what you are doing, it would be pointless to start listing them

the formula =and(A1=B1) also works. A1 being your first column and B1 one your second , where there is no match it will show FALSE.
