Compaq V75 USB

My monitor is an old compaq v75
this has 2 usb ports on it a port a and a port b (for the 2 sizes of usb) but i cannot get either to work is there ny way they can be turned on again ?
Running win 98se if that helps

2 usb sizes ? anyway what connections do you have on the monitor in similar setups the usb/speakers on monitors normally have standard jacks i.e the usb cable just plugs into the usb ports on your pc unless it uses a custom fitting.
