Compaq Server & RH Linux 8 2

I have a Compaq Proliant 1850R that I am trying to install RedHat 8 on. I have a SmartArray 3200 installed, and trying to RAID 4 9GB drives. The systems freezes during the point of the installation that RedHat is probing for devices. It freezes right after it successfully probes for the monitor.

Has anyone had any luck with the combination I am using? Does anyone know the order that RedHat probes for hardware? Any ideas, suggestions?

The problem is in the version of anaconda that comes with RH 7.3 and higher. It doesn't like the the on-board network card. If you disable it, RedHat will install fine.

My 1850R had a second NIC in it, so I just left the on-board one disabled. I don't know if that's a possibility for your install. ______________________________________________________________________
