I have a scsi RAID-controller (compaq), dont know the model, but it works.

Then I have an external scsi-harddisk 18g.

I have a cable from the card to the disk and a terminator on the other cable-outcome on the disk.

I dont have any other scsi devices, so i have given the disk number 0.

The controller shows when i boot my machine (initializing --> ok) but i cant see the scsi disk in windows ??

Have i not done everythig that has to be done or am i just stupid ? ;)

The driver doesnt have a conflict and cables are attached by the book.

Thanx to all that can help me in advance !

Can you find the model no for the RAID controller and the model no for the 18gb drive? If so we should be able to assist!

You might need to go into the BIOS to set the boot controller if possible. I have had the same issue with Compaq ML and DL series servers with a 5302 controller, so it might be worth a shot.

Did you configure the disk in the ACU (Array Configuration utility?) Just connecting the disk to the controller does not do this trick, you need to tell the controller what he is supposed to do with the disk.

Once configured, you should see it in OS.
