I have read a few other threads that have similar content, but none of them match exactly.

I slid out the CPU-module to check the memory modules. Then I replaced the DIMM:s with some other (verified) memory. Then slid the CPU-module back into the machine and went to power on. Nothing. A soft "click" is heard and a diode somewhere near the back of the hot-plug devices flashes briefly.

I slid out the CPU-module again and put the original DIMM:s back in there (3 of them) and tried again. Nothing.

So now I have a Proliant 1600 I cannot get started.

I have checked for loose wires/cables, but cannot find anything. HEEELP!

Is there a trip switch on the PL1600 that may be stopping it from powering up? Is the case lid on properly? -----------------------------------------------------

Hi

Sounds like the CPU is not seated correctly...

It sounds like the memory is not compatable with the server it is being installed on. Can the server accept miss matched simms/dimms??

Hopefully you have got restarted by now.

However I have found that the 1600's are VERY finicky when it comes to putting that CPU tray back in. Slightest bit out of place (as it sees it) and no start up. Bit of a pain. I usually find giving it a good slam into place does better than being gentle with it.
