We are having problems with a Compaq Presario V4000 (P/N: PL696AV) notebook. For some strange reason, the touchpad, the keyboard, and sometimes the hard drive (processes won't run) will not work unless pressure is applied to the space to the flat space to the left of the touchpad. And no, I'm not crazy....I had 2 other people try it out to make sure I wasn't. I'm thinking it may be the motherboard but am hoping it's something simpler. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

is the case firmly in place and no screws missing underneath?

Most people spend their time on the "urgent" rather than on the "important."

Yeah, it appears to be firmly in place and there are no missing screws.
