I want to upgrade the memory from the default 64mb and add a 128mb more if possible,
this Compaq Armada M700 laptop it don't seem to have the usual opening at the bottom of the laptop to accommodate more memory,
( as in most laptops)
the only opening at the bottom is for the modem,
I'm in a bit of a loss here 'cause I don't know how to find or where is the access to the dimms modules,
other then opening the case, but it must be an easy-er access to the dimms modules

Look for slide/flip open doors on the sides. Can you go to Compaq and d/l a users manual?

I own an ARMADA 1750, yeah different, but unlike the dell, toshiba, and others the SODIMM slot on the 1750 is under the keyboard. There are to releases (use a paper clip or the like) and along the bottom right under the CTRL key and on the left under the ALT key are the release ports. Push the left or right and then the other to release the keyboard (it tilts up) and you have access to the SODIMM slot. Threre is only one THE orig 64 is hard mounted. I added a 128 SODIMM as I found conflicting info as to acceptability of a 256 (KINGSTON lists a 256 they claim is compat if you want to try). A manual can be downloaded for you specific model at:

Hope this helps.. These are tanks of a laptop a bit heavy but always works aand your is a better chip than the 1750.

Good luck
