COMPAQ 7500 Monitor 1

G'day

My sons monitor went out and a friend gave me a COMPACT 7500, Model PE1164U, it's running on a HP Pavillion 6330 PC, I can only get it to display in 16 colors, I tried Drivers.Com, and I either performed the bloody serach wrong, or something I did wrong. Can anyone help me find a site or know where I can download the correct driver & adaptor for this monitor please

Sorry I didn't respond right away mate, I had a reaction to a new medication that really hit me. Forgive me mate, I failed to mention that I found instruction for formatting that hardive witth ME on it because it had so many things missing in error messages, looks like prevuious owner removed programs without using unibstall. So I figured I have the wim 98 CD, so I formatted the harddrive then clean installed Win 98.

I ran the SFC.ESE, it found about 40 deleted/missiog or corrupted dll files, one called trunk.16.exe trunk .32.. exe, says deleted

If I reninstalled the Win 98 on top of itself would that fix this mate?

I don't know (or can find any reference to) any trunk.16.exe file in Windows 98. Do you mean twunk16.exe? If so then a Google search shows it's added by the WORM_RBOT.BAT worm.

I'm not sure whether a re-install of Win 98 on top of itself would fix the errors. I've done loads of XP repair installs but no Windows 98 repair installs.

Given the amount of time you've spent trying to repair what is obviously a damaged OS and with 40 missing/corrupted/deleted system files plus the errors you are getting with the display driver I would strongly suggest starting from scratch, i.e. FDISK, re-format then re-install of Windows 98.

G'day Rick,

I have been rescued, my younger brother went ahead and bout me a new computer, this is off topic mate, but I hope you will consider helping me. On a previous thread I talked ablout My Compaq Presario that crashed, turns out it was the processor, so my young brother bought me a new Compaq, with Win XP Home, so my question is mate, how can I configure the Jumper Pins on this Western Digital Harddrive to make it a slave drive on the new computer, I am not sure if my neighbor switched them aroung when he checked to see if this harddrive had crashed, and it hasn't, it was identified but an error because the Windows Versions on the 2 were different, but it did identify that. It's the harddrive that comtains information on my CVombat Injuries, Doctors letters reports, Government replies on and on, not to mention some 300 photos from Vietnam & Iraq I took, things you never seenn on the news. Mite you know how to configure the jumper settings to make this a slave drive.

You didn't mention what model of Western Digital drive you have but a Google search on "Western Digital jumper settings" brought up

hey,
My name is Jesse,i have a problem with my computer moniter. i can't even see any kind of picture. when i go to the display properties, it says that i only have 16 colors. it is really crappy. i can see solid colors fine. but when it comes to seeing different shades of colors, you might as well not even try to see what your looking at. if i want to see a light gray; it shows up as gray witha bunch of white dots in it. its like its putting colors together to try and make he right color. long story short.... how can i make it better?
