I've gotta coupla paragraphs I want people to agree to before using the Corporate Network.

The message box and title options in the Domain Policy are a little limited - i.e.no text formatting

How do I get a formatted (Pargraph Spacing and Bold Text) Company Inet use Policy in fornt of users faces at Ctrl-Alt-Del time?

Do I use a logon script? How do I get a simple 10 line formatted policy in there?

Thanks!

Is this something you want them to agree to before they logon?
If it can wait til after they logon, create the script in VBS or something, then drop it as a logon script in domain security policy.

Right, as Xemus is saying you can use a MsgBOx in a script that will run at the machine startup policy.

Another possibility is to change the logon bitmap(s).
All those bitmaps are stored as resources in msgina.dll file.
You need a development tool to edit the resources, or use
for replacing the bitmaps.

I did some tests for Windows 2k Server and i saw that bitmap 112 is the one used as top banner for the logon screen and (press ctr-alt-delete to logon..)

After you replace them, the new msgina.dll file you will rename it and copy in winnt\system32 folder.
Then you go to regedit and add the key:
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ Microsoft\WindowsNT\ CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Ginadll (REG_SZ)
After you add it, give it as value the name of the new gina file.

Caution!! msgina file is vital for the system!!! You can change these bitmaps, change some resources there, but nothing more!

I guess the short Inet use policy can wait until after logon. :(

Funny how there are thousands of .vbs script examples there but not for what I want to do. If it weree after logon then I'd have to have a few buttons and 'd have to have it log them out again if they clicked 'Cancel' for example. How does li'l old me find out how to write that?

I'd kinda wanted it on the Ctrl-Alt-Del but, funnily enough, I just can't find any info. out there on how to do that. I've seen it done before by a big company with a big IS Dept.!

Gia, would this .dll you suggested then have to be copied to all workstations in the Co. or ??

Thanks for your help folx.

Anyone know which file the Logon Dialog comes from? I can find the Unlock 'puter file in msgina.dll but not the user logon dialog....

Hmmmm

Isn't it in winlogin.exe?

Denny

Between the ESP=ON and the RUM (Read Users Mind) upgrade, I'm ready to go.

DasHard,
As I sent in the email, the file HAS to be a DLL file.
So, don't change the extension!!
