Is there a function that can compair 2 graphics and return eihter:

1) How much diffrence there is between the two

2) if the two are the same.

3) If the second is located in the first, and if so where.

I'm trying to write a poor mans OCR program that would only be reading 0-9 + A - D. Alwasy in the same font, size, color, and background.

I have not found an free OCR API, so I'b hopeing I can find a workarround.

Any suggestions?

This is not a solution but you should be aware that two scans the same document will almost always produce different images.

Thanks Sheco, but thats actually not a problem for this =)

I'm basically copying information out of one program into another one.

The writeing isnt actually an image, but I am taking a screenshot of the window, and cutting the writing out and want to read that.

It started as something to save time at work (no more hand copying the information between it and Excel) but now it's more of a "can it be done" than something I actually need to make. heh, We are changeing over to QuickBooks anyway. (the program i'm getting the information from is going to be replaced by quickbooks)
