Good morning, right now I'm compacting an Access Database (for reduce the size of the .mdb file) but in th middle of the process Access tell me that it couldn't find a field.

The exactly message is:

"Couldn't find field 'Description'".

May anybody helps me omn this, please? Because I need to reduce the amount of space in disk that I have and this is my biggest file.

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Try a repair, if you haven't already.

I have already do that.

I'm using Access 2000 and I choose the Compact and Repair Database option but this is what it do.

Some tip?

Create a new database and import ALL the objects from the one you are trying to compact.

May you explain me why this happenend?

Thanks it works.

Somewhat of a mystery, I just know that the import seems to clear this up. This happens to me very infrequently.
