Compact ICS software upgrade won't install

Hello...I have a cics with 2.0 software (SP-30bdk01)it is restricted to 4 co's and I need to increase the co's to 7.

When I try and install 7.0 the phones just keep flashing.

I waited for 20 minutes...no luck

I shorted the battery/cap on the motherboard and I waited for 20 minutes..no luck (System went back to default).

I have changed the 7.0 software cartridge...no luck

I have to be doing something wrong because, I tried to upgrade 2 other cisc KSU's at the office to 7.0 and got the same result.

Please show me the errors of my ways!

I believe you need to upgrade to 4.1 as a first step. If you do a search (tab at the top of the page) on CICS upgrade you should be able to get all the info you need as this subject has been discussed many times.

7.0 takes a long time to boot. Wait longer, It should work. I just did a MICS 7 yesterday that took nearly a half an hour

More time....if that don't work then bring it up with the RLS 2. Then do a **STARTUP. When the phone says APLLYING TEMPLATE" power down the system and install the 7.0. Power up and give it about 30 minutes to come up.

7.0 dose not mean 7 lines as stated in your first post. If all you need is 3 more lines you must install a second trunk card!

I have found on the older systems, if they are 6.0 or less you must first upgrade to 6.1 or they will not load, new KSU's don't seem to have any problems, just the ones that have had s/w before. I have done this several times with no problem.

Well, I let it flash/run for 40 minutes...No luck.I am going to take Hawks advice today if thats a no go I will try silver987's advice and go to 6.1 first.

I will report back.


PS Endlesswinter...I have installed the second truck card...I should have stated that more clearly...Customer is going from 4 lines to 7 lines

Install software upgrade first.......... then LD/DS card.

I have taken a release 1.0 up to 7.0 with no problem (maybee I got lucky) I did it how Hawks stated **startup then after aplying template pulled plug and it reloaded after 5 to 10 min. Good Luck!

Hawks trick worked...I did a **STARTUP. When the phone says APLLYING TEMPLATE" power down the system and install the 7.0. Powered up and my system came up in about 3 Minutes. I did have to do a **startup one more time because
I needed 3 digit numbering.
