Compact and Repair Freezes

Hello,

I'm using Access 2000 on windows 2000 server and Access seems to freeze up for me when I want to compact and repair my DB's

The application seems to complete the compact 1/2 way then simply stops...the computer is not frozen or seems to act odd. It just seems to stop

Any help would be appreciated

Is your code fully compiled? Compile error sometimes cause things like this.

I'm not too sure how to check that, if you can point me to it, I'll verify it for you.

open up the immediate window or any code and click on the debug menu. You'll see the option up top.

I can't seem to find the Debug menu in access...

Follow steps listed in this thread and then do compact repair.

I managed to find the Debug menu and is states that I am missing a certain PSIServer...somehting of that sort...could that be the problem?

Yes. I have no idea what that is, though. It's best to post the full text of error messages. Also, let us know what it highlights when it tells you about the error.

In general, though, if your code has compile problems you can run into problems running any of your code.

Well I was able to get into the editor, not anymore for some reason, perhaps because my clients are working in it as well.

I have the Refrences Dialog Box that shows

MISSING: PSiServer 1.0 Type Library

MyObj As PSISERVERLib.PSiAct

that is what is highlighted

Oh, well in that case it's quite easy. Just open up the references and find that file, either in the list of files there or by browsing to it. Can't run without that reference.

Well...I managed to fix that problem...but it is not helping me with regards to the DB...

There are two large talbes in it that cannot be moved, copied, exported, compacted or repaired....Access just seems to stop working after a few minutes. The odd thing is, it doesn't seem to freeze up...it just stops running the process. And when I try to close it tells me that I am interrupting said process...when it is clearly not doing anything in the first place!
