im buliding up an old tower of mine (pent2 200mhz) it was complete apart from the hard drive,i got a 4.2gb and put it in it formatted it and loaded windows 2000 disk on boot up,it detects everything then when its checking hard ware config it comes up with DISK ERROR IN NTD FILE? if anyone could help me i wpold be grateful...thnx andy

boot with win98 start-up disk use F-disk to do the hard disk partitions and format under MS-DOS.

Good luck,

i have tryed that and its still not working? could it be that the mother board is not compatible with windows 2000? cheers mate!

Is DISK ERROR IN NTD FILE the exact message? (Google finds no hits for that message - which is unusual). Could be 2k needs a driver to access your hard drive (uncommon, but possible).
