Hey Guys,
I was at a LAN and installed HL2, ever since then my comp has been restarting basically when ever it feels like it. It seams like its doing it when my comp is under a load. I set my startup so nothing starts up except AIM. I ran symantec antivirus, and spybot, everything seams good there. Any words of wisdom?

And i dont think it is over heating. But it could be that I burned up my processor, AMD Xp 2000+ Palimino Core, I know this processor has an over heating problem, I put a Zalman CPNS-7000Cu on it so it shouldnt be over heating. Im not getting any overheating errors either. My Mobo is the Soyo Dragon Ultra KT400, With a ATI 9500 with the Zalman GPU cooler also, RAM is 512 of DDR 400.

The most common reasons for restarting:
Weak power supply (especially under load.
Software conflict (driver problem)
If you try and reduce the load, perhaps by unplugging a couple of things, removing addon cards, then see if this reduces or elliminates the restarting.
This will obviously point towards the PSU being at fault.
Try a restore point before the lan party? if it is a driver/software issue taking it back she elliminate the problem.

Hey can you maybe recomend a good PSU, cuz i think i will just install a new one if that is the problem, or maybe just get a decent suttle.

This is now becoming a common gaming problem, people buy a case with a builtin psu and they are cr*p, what happens is the psu under load starts to wildly fluctuate the current to the rails and trips out your system, usually its caused by low power.
to remedy this in the short term increase your Vcore in windows using your motherboard utility (0.5v should be sufficient) this guarantees your Vcore enough power under strain.
A good psu i would recommend would be an Antec truepower line 350w and up Tagan are very good but had some compatibility issues with my MSI board.

Another thing you should consider instead of just going for a good brand name is the amount of draw your particular system has. You should total up the draw that all of your components are going to put on your power supply, and purchase a new power supply that will meet your needs.
