This reporting application uses com ports to collect smdr information for reporting.

Does the Mitel 200 mx have a port I can connect to and collect the smdr information?

I see Alarm (relay,) Printer, and Maintenance ports. I've worked with Prairiefyre which collects it's information via a network connection but this client will have all digital Phonesets and the call reporting software they ordered does not interface via tcp/ip

the port is configurable and needs to be programmed.

In form 12 you configure the Data port and assign an extension number. I believe the PLID's are 1-13-20 thru to 1-13-28 (confirm this, I'm going from memory)

Form 13 defines the speed and other data parameters.

You then need to add the extension in form 34 and define it as SMDR output.

The Telnet port is defined by the PLID, you'll need to check the THB for sure but again memory says port 65320 thru to 65328 where the last 2 digits match the cct programmed in for 12.

Consistancy... Is only a virtue when you're not a total screwup.

Thanks for the quick response, I will see what I can do and get back to you.

Yes it is, it's going to be mounted in the same rack since there will not be any network traffic between to the two.

I found the option to do @comm TCP/IP Buffer and I put the ICP's ip address in there. Now I am going to test it out.

the product is and it's the Commview cpe

if you only need smdr stream and you are not using the printer port for anything else, use it. All you would need is the cable betweem the two and minimal programing form 34

if your commview does not have an eia port what I have suggested won't work.

The commview is installed on a windows xp machine with a software buffer installed. It is connected from com port 1 to the printor port on the mitel 200. According to the manual smdr is sent to the printer by default.

So if the COS for the test phonesets are smdr enabled that information should be sent to printer port by default correct?

yes but assume nothing, I would confirm in form 34 that "printer port and printout is smdr. Make sure all your cos have option 702 enabled for any device accessing the trunks and also form 16 trunk group has smdr enabled.

That is one of the things I am thinking is probably going to need to be veirfied, mind you we haven't even installed it yet and the extensions in the switch haven't been programmed. So we will see tomorrow evening. I'm just content the reporting application is ready. Nothing worse than having to worry about TWO things during an install.

Here is a copy and paste of form 34.

should work if form 16 is also programed as I mentioned. A test I use sometimes to confirm the port is working is in form 32 print any form, this will check the port is ok.

Not all the trunks had smdr turned on was the problem. But you guys help I was able to verify that the printer port was indeed configured correctly. Thanks for the help.
