Hello all,

Hope someone could help me with this one issue. Users can send / receive email from outside the firewall just fine except for one address *@socal.rr.com. When sending email to any user at this address, the following system admin response is sent back almost immediately,

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

Unable to deliver the message due to a communications failure

The MTS-ID of the original message is blah blah blah

I sent an email using another system (yahoo.com) and the messages are going through, just not from our Internal Exchange 5.5 server. Thanks in advance...

I would guess it is a routing issue and its related to your DNS configuration or how the firewall is configured. also if the remote site is scanning email for content or using blacklists it can be a problem. I encountered the same problem and come to find out I had been blacklisted on some site 50 decades ago!!!!!!!

Well it turned out the site was blocking our email after all. Thanks for the reply jack.
