Communications Error

I have a IPAQ 5450 with 2002 that i recently purchase. Im using XP PRO and install Active SYNC 3.8. The mobile device appears in my computer and all the drivers appear fine. Everytime i tried to Sync to my desktop i get the following error "Cannot start communications with the desktop computer. Winsock services could not start due to a critical error (Error %d) Please reconnect your device. So I setup the Pocket PC with two different pc's and the same error appears. Any clues or links? Maybe it's the cradle. Thank you all who helps

These tend to be tough. Have you tried to soft reset the device and re-boot your PC? Also, when you went through the set up are you checking to see if activesync is looking at the right port? IT could be the cradle, but if it is the one that came from HP with the device you should be ok.
