Communication problems between server

I am an installer trying to help a client connect two servers in order to import data from a Progressive SQL database. (v8 I am pretty sure)

When trying to connect with ODBC (or oldedb for that matter) we are getting a communication error. The target server has Pervasive.Sql control center installed on it so I assumed the ODBC drivers existed also. When trying to register the source server though we are getting an error saying to check for "communication components" on the remote server.

I am not familiar with PSQL so it is a trial and error process. Clients along their network all have a DSN on them, but when I try to make one of this server, it fails saying cannot load communication requestor.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

What's the exact error message?
What are the exact steps you're doing?
What's the file version of W3ODBCEI.DLL on the server (where the PSQL engine is running) and what's the version of W3ODBCCI.DLL on the "client" (the machine trying to access the server engine)? Both files would be in the PVSW\BIN directory on each machine.

I will forward this info to the customer. I have only remote access when the customer requests it, so he will have to do the looking around. I will get back with results.
